Kevan rejects Crewe position

Notts County's assistant manager Dave Kevan has today revealed he has rejected the opportunity to become assistant to Gudjon Thordarson at Crewe Alexandra. The former Notts boss had been keen to lure his former Stoke City to colleague to Gresty Road, but Kevan has opted to stay with his good friend Ian McParland to lead Notts into a new era at Meadow Lane.

News of the Railwaymen's reported interested in Kevan materialised two weeks ago, but only today has it been revealed they made an official approach for Kevan, but the former Magpies midfielder has decided to remain in his current job, rather than head North.

Kevan joined McParland at Meadow Lane when the Scot took the job on a year and a half ago, leaving his position as assistant to Steve Cotterill at Burnley, citing his links with the club and good relationship with McParland, and it seems Kevan is not yet ready to avandon his job at Meadow Lane just yet.
