After a the planned £3million takeover collapsed earlier in the month, the Football League's board of directors requested that the Magpies report back with an alternative takeover package on September 8.

The new takeover proposal is being financed by a consortium backed by former County chairman Derek Pavis.
And Kelly, speaking on behalf of chief administrator Paul Finnity, said: "Everyone's hopeful we be completed by the September 8 deadline. We're certainly progressing in a positive manner."
