Johnson heading back

Ouch: Johnson was withdrawn on Tuesday after a nasty collision.
Michael Johnson is expected to run out onto the Gigg Lane pitch despite being withdrawn against Macclesfield following a painful clash of heads.

Deputising defender Adam Tann will therefore drop back to the bench, where he is likely to be accompanied by Jamie Forrester who has now recovered from a toe injury.

Seven goal midfielder Richard Butcher may have staked a claim for a starting spot after coming off the bench in place of Nathaniel Wedderburn on Tuesday.

A return to goal-scoring form would be highly welcomed as Notts aim to improve their away record that has seen them win just once in their last six trips.

The only casualty at present is Russell Hoult, but he is hoping to be back in action inside a month after seeing a specialist about his persistent shoulder problem.

Speaking to the club's official site, he explained: "It has been a frustrating time for me but I'm hopeful that when I visit the specialist in three weeks I will have some positive news and I can get back into training."

Alan Knill's team are set to be without Ben Futcher (hamstring), in addition to Stephen Dawson and Wayne Brown (both thigh).
