Former Notts boss Jocky Scott is being linked with a coaching role at Premiership side Sunderland, with The Black Cats coach Ricky Sbragia in talks with Manchester United and is expected to sign to coach Sir Alex Ferguson's reserves team, Scott his tipped to replace him.

Scott has been out of a job since last summer, when he left Raith Rovers after failing to help them avoid the drop to the Scottish Division 2.

He was sacked by The Magpies after a year and abit in the hotseat at Meadow Lane, following a disappointing start to last season and a bad relationship with Notts fans.

Notts finished 8th in Jocky's first season, a creditable finish as during the season there were alot of in's and out's, with the likes of Danny Allsopp, Nicky Fenton and others coming in.

One of Scott's decisions that has puzzled fans to the presant day was the decision to release Anders Jacobsen, despite finishing runner up in the player of the year awards and being a huge favourite with the fans.

Scott was spotted on the Sunderland bench for a reserves fixture with Everton last night, sparking speculation that he is set to agree on a move to Wearside as Sbragia's replacement.
