Jenkins Leaves Notts!

Last updated : 02 January 2004 By Rob Davies
As revealed on the official site earlier today, Jenkins, one of Dearden's four summer signings on month-to-month deals has literally just drove out of those famous Meadow Lane gates for the last time.

The move came somewhat out of the blue, though director Peter Joyce had warned in yesterday's NEP that all of those on short term deals may not be offered new deals, as cut backs were needed.

Despite coming with the highest reputation of all the signings and immediately being made captain, Jenkins has impressed Notts' fans the least out of Billy's four summer signings and was always the most likely to be released.

Notts' other players on short-term deals Simon Baldry, Clive Platt, Tony Barras, Saul Deeney, Michael Brough and Ian Richardson, must now all be quaking in their boots that they could be the next ones to go, as more out goings are more or less certain.

All at NCM would like to wish Steve Jenkins all the best in the future, and all the luck in the world at finding a new club.
