Jackson moves on loan to Charlton

Caretaker manager Dave Kevan insists there was no pressure from the club's new owner Ray Trew to let the former Tottenham trainee leave and return to London.

"I have to say it's disappointing. It's mainly for family reasons. His wife is heavily pregnant. She's down in London so it suits him," said Kevan.

"It was not forced on us by the finances. There was no pressure on me to allow him to go. I didn't want him to go. I spoke to the chairman and (chief executive) Jim Rodwell and they were happy for us to keep him.

"That's what we tried to do but Jacko sees it as an opportunity in his career to gain a permanent move to Charlton. It is a possibility he will come back here though, absolutely."
