It's a date

After sustaining the injury, believed to be an unknown strain to the knee’s medial ligaments, after just five minutes of the 0-0 draw at Roots Hall on Saturday, defender Whitlow now faces an anxious day-long wait to unearth the extent of the damage. A result which will, ultimately, reveal whether or not sitting the rest of the season due to the injury is a realistic prospect, or not.

The 37-year old Notts skipper, two years the senior of player/boss Ian Richardson, has seen a recent rebirth since the appointment of Richardson, with a massive coming of form as of late from the experienced defender (pictured right).

After seeing the Club Surgeon today, Whitlow is currently awaiting a MRI scan on the damaged knee although it is likely to be another 24 hours or so before the full extent of the injury is revealed.

Speaking to the Notts County Official site once more, Richardson said, "Obviously we are taking every precaution to discover the full extent of Mike Whitlow's injury, so we will have to wait until some time on Wednesday to find out the full story."

Be sure to tune in to NCM tomorrow for the results of the scan.
