Iron man to the rescue

Not again!: Pilkington missed the back end of last season through injury.
Ian McParland has acted rapidly to bring in a goalkeeper as cover for the injured Kevin Pilkington.

Notts' number 12 picked up a knee injury in the dying stages of the weekend's draw with Brentford and a scan is expected to reveal medial ligament damage.

It has not been revealed how long he will be sidelined but he will undoubtedly have to observe from the stands for a while alongside Russell Hoult, who is recovering from shoulder surgery.

As a result, 21-year-old Scunthorpe United stopper, Josh Lillis has been brought in on a month's loan to deputise, as well as pick up some much needed experience.

To date, he has made 10 appearances for the Iron since graduating from their youth academy in 2006.

Delroy Facey may also miss the game against Aldershot tomorrow night because of a calf problem that saw him withdrawn at half time on Saturday.

Injuries aside, McParland is expected to name an unchanged team following another impressive display.

Gavin Strachan (hamstring) and Richard Butcher (foot) are the only others guaranteed to miss out.

The Shots are set to string a number of changes as they aim to return to winning ways at the Recreation Ground.

Ex-Magpie, Junior Mendes is vying for a place after impressing from the bench against Macclesfield Town. This could see Marvin Morgan operate as a substitute.
