Ireland Breaks His Duck

Ireland rose highest on 72 minutes to head home a Paul Bolland corner yesterday to put Notts 2-1 up, his first goal since August 2001.

That goal came in another Magpies home win on the first home game of last season, when he opened the scoring in a 2-1 win over Cambridge, again following a corner.

The goal scored yesterday won't be the most memorable of his career, with his most important coming back in November 1999 when he scored for Dundee at Ibrox against Rangers to give Dundee a shock win.
