The former Southampton and Colchester United man was signed by Gudjon Thordason in the summer of 05/06 and enjoyed an impressive first season at the club, gaining many plaudits for his no nonsense displays alongside Mike Edwards. He hasn't been as impressive in the past two campaigns, in no small part down to the persistent injury problems that he seems to have finally overcome, and Hunt will be looking forward to a full season in black and white once again.
Having made just 16 starts in 18 months, Hunt will be hoping he to gain a place in Ian McParland's first team next season, battling with John Thompson and Mike Edwards for two places in the central of defence, while also providing cover to Jamie Clapham at left back.
Hunt told the official site of his new deal:-
"I missed out on pre-season training last summer after having surgery to solve a groin problem and I was always playing catch-up from there. I just didn't do myself justice but as the manager has said, I now have to really get myself in gear because next season is going to be massive for me.
"I certainly have a point to prove but if I can pick up where I left off in the final game of the season at Wycombe, that will be a good start."
