Hughes to leave Oldham

Oldham Athletic have today confirmed that Notts County target Lee Hughes will not be signing a new deal at Boundary Park, and is set to leave the club. Hughes was offered a new deal by new Oldham manager Dave Penney, but has rejected this which could pave the way for a move to Meadow Lane.

Notts manager Ian McParland confirmed he had spoken to Hughes yesterday, and rumours are rife that the former West Brom man could be the Magpies' latest summer signing. Hughes was training with the Latics at the start of their pre-season campaign but has now left to return to the Midlands, and according to Oldham managing director Simon Corney is "speaking to other clubs".

NCM understands that apart from the Magpies, Hughes has also spoken to his first club Kidderminster Harriers about a return to Aggborough, but that seems unlikely due to Hughes' wage demands.

NCM will have the latest transfer news first!
