Hughes set for new deal?

Notts County manager Martin Allen has confirmed that the club are in tentative discussions to extend the contract of striker Lee Hughes, which is due to run out at the end of the season. The 35 year-old has started the season in blistering form, prompting discussions between Hughes, Allen, chairman Ray Trew and chief executive Jim Rodwell. Despite hinting otherwise on local news earlier in the week, Allen has insisted a deal is far from done, although with all parties seemingly keen the club will be hoping to tie up the loose ends sooner rather than later.
