HMRC confirmed Notts debt is clear

Notts County have today confirmed that they have received the all clear from HMRC over a £600,000 tax bill that originally saw the club hit with a winding up petition. The Magpies agreed a repayment plan with the tax man and all outstanding monies have been repaid thanks to the hard work of Ray Trew and the staff at Meadow Lane. The chairman has previously reiterated his desire for the club to be debt free by the end of the year.

Trew told www.nottscountyfc.co.uk:-

"The debt to HMRC has been a dark cloud hanging over Notts County since we arrived back in February and we are delighted to be able to close another sorry chapter in the clubs recent past.

Having paid the debt to HMRC, we were just awaiting official clearance from them that we were no longer under debt management."
