Hart New Barnsley Boss

Barnsley, home of Notts County legend Mark Stallard (struggling so far), sacked current boss, former Stoke manager Gudjon Thordarson, earlier today.

Not something us Notts fans would usually care about. But it came as a shock to us (well, me) when his replacement was announced as Paul Hart.

Hart took the 'mighty reds' to the playoffs last season, and when linked with Leeds earlier in the season, Forest fans were up in arms at the possibile departure of their hero.

But the notoriously fickle bunch soon turned on their boss as our neighbours soon spiralled down the table, scoring a total of 0 goals in the process.
He was sacked at the start of February.

Hart, also a former centre half for Notts, supported Notts throughout our fininacial plight, managing the red side in the "legends" match and turning up at the Trust organised Auction in November. We wish him all the best.

In other news, Paul Sturrock- the Scot who has guided Plymouth to the brink of the First Division this season, has quit Argyle to take up the vacant post at Premiership Southampton, sure to fire up the players for Saturday's match at- yep, you guessed it- Meadow Lane.

And the third managerial change in the Division took place at Grimsby, beaten 3-1 by Notts on Tuesday, have appointed former Chesterdfield manager Nicky Law as their manager until the end of the season.

Law made his interest in the Notts job public when Billy Dearden resigned but the County board instead opted for Gary Mills.
