Users of Notts County Mad have chosen Matthew Hamshaw as the Magpies' best signing over the close-season.

Balance: Hamshaw has helped to add balance to the team...
Joining from Mansfield Town, the midfielder has impressed with some solid displays on the right wing, adding a greater balance to the team.

Hamshaw has shown that he can keep it simple, as well as pick out the more spectacular passes, implementing some variety into Notts' passing game.

Using these abilities, he has played significant parts in many of the team's best attacking moves.

County fans have been impressed by his contributions so far, with 39.3 percent of the 122 people that voted selecting Hamshaw.

In a close second with 35.2 percent was young full-back, Jason Beardsley, who has been linking up well with Hamshaw - overlapping effectively on many occasions.

Having started in every league game this season, the Derby County youth has shone, looking both strong in attack and defence.

One vote: Fairclough has rarely featured so far...

He has even done enough to keep last season's captain, Adam Tann, out of the side with some fine displays.

The remaining players did not score so highly, with the two-goal Jamie Forrester claiming 11.5 percent, followed by his strike-partner, Delroy Facey with 8.2 percent.

Despite hardly featuring, Sean Canham came next with 3.3 percent of the votes, beating the injured Adam Nowland (1.6 percent) and Ben Fairclough (0.8 percent).
