Hackworth Listed!

It's a well-known fact that Hackworth is on wages way above Notts can afford and Mills has taken the obvious step today by placing the former Leeds man on the transfer list, a thought that always eluded former boss Billy Dearden.

And despite Hackworth starting every match of Mills' three-match reign, he clearly doesn't think Hackworth is worth the reported £3,000 a week that he earns.

He told the official site: "We have decided to transfer to transfer list Tony as we simply cannot afford him. Tony will not be available for selection in tomorrow's match at home to Barnsley."

Two questions arise from this news.

Firstly, Who'd have him? And secondly: Why has he only just been transfer listed? I always assumed he was on the list, anyway.

Hackworth was signed from Leeds by Scardino & Storrie for £120,000 on a four-year deal. He has scored two goals in 23 starts and a total of 64 appearences for The Magpies.
