Gudjon swoops on deadline day

As the club now face the hectic Christmas period without being able to make a signing, Gudjon Thordarson has moved to cover his interests with the signing of attacking midfielder, Liam Needham.

Scully: Shipped out once again.
The 20-year old, who NCM originally reported to have joined the club on trial during the summer, rose through the Sheffield Wednesday ranks with fiery midfielder Lewis McMahon prior to their respective departures from Hillsborough during the close season.

However, as McMahon became a near-regular fixture for Paul Sturrock’s men, Needham enjoyed little luck, having made only one appearance for the Yorkshire outfit.

Since leaving Hillsborough, Needham joined Conference North side Gainsborough Trinity, where he has made nineteen appearances, scoring twice in the process.

Needham joins the club on non-contract forms, and is expected to be in contention for Saturday’s League Two clash with Torquay.

Exiting through those ever-spinning Meadow Lane doors, however, is winger Tony Scully.

The much-travelled midfielder returned to the ‘Lane earlier today from his loan spell with Exeter City, only to head straight out on a one-month loan, joining Crawley Town in the Conference National.
