With the transfer window for Football League clubs having slammed shut almost a week ago, the FA have been allowing lower league sides to strengthen squads with temporary loan deals.

And whilst Gudjon has admitted to having been on the lookout for loan additions, the Icelandic boss, 49, is insistent that he is not to rush into loan deals until he finds the ‘special one’.
"We might well be top but I am always looking to add players to the team. I won't be rushed though, the player or players we want will have to be the right ones and fit in perfectly," said Gudjon, speaking to Magpies Online earlier today.
"I say they have to be the 'special one', but they are all special. At this moment there are targets but I can't say what I am thinking because there is so much going around in my head it would confuse everyone!"
"For now, we will keep looking in a bid to bring someone in," he added.
Thordarson is said to have, along with his team of scouts, been attending reserves games up and down the country in the search for the coveted one, with Norwich, Manchester City, Sunderland and Middlesborough all named amongst Gudjon’s port of calls.
This adding to Gudjon already having taken former Leeds striker Damien Reeves on trial, with the Icelandic focusing his attention towards a new striker.
Whether or not Gudjon succeeds in his search for new talent remains to be seen – in any case, be sure to check back to NCM as per for your daily dose of news from the ‘Lane.
