The Icelandic manager today informed seven of his playing staff that their futures lay away from Meadow Lane and now, just hours later, Gudjon has further moved to shake-up his squad ahead of the players heading off for their post-season break by offering extended terms to three of his current squad.
Thordarson has revealed that new deals have been put on the table for Liam Needham, Mike Edwards and free-agent Lee Crooks, who all feature strongly in the Notts manager's plans for next season.
Of the trio, Mike Edwards is believed to be the club's number one target as the midfielder-cum-defender has become a near ever-present for the Magpies this term after his first season here was ravaged by injury.
Midfielders
Aside from the seven released and the three contracts offered to the current squad, Gudjon has yet to pass judgement on a whole host of players including Lewis McMahon, Steve Scoffham, Rob Ullathorne and captain Julien Baudet, whose futures all remain very much up in the air.
Elsewhere, loan threesome Dan Chillingworth (Rushden), Forest's Eugene Dadi and Nathan Doyle of Derby have all returned to their parent clubs, with the Notts boss leaving the trail cold, as it were, as he breaks off his initial interest in the trio.
