Gordon’s season meets an early end

Gordon went down in the 29th minute of yesterday’s league clash with Rushden, his body slumping in a heap on the ground just outside the centre circle after challenging for an aerial ball.

'GG' in action
At the time of the incident, the tackle seemed somewhat innocuous, but the injury anything but – so perhaps ‘GG’ is, dare we say it, somewhat fortunate to emerge without more career threatening injuries than that of a broken jaw.

Nevertheless the extent of the injury looks set to rule out the striker out for a considerable amount of time, which is another huge blow to the injury-ridden Magpies.

"I've spoken to the surgeon and Gavin's broken his jaw and could be out for the rest of the season," Richardson told the local media after yesterday’s bore draw.
