With Mark Stallard now out for 6-8 weeks, he joins Steve Jenkins, Paul Bolland and Michael Brough on the sidelines.

Dearden has now been forced to try and bring another player in.

"We are going to have to go cap in hand to the Football League again. Dearden told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"We will have to show them we are not going to be able to field a team due to the injuries - and provide medical evidence to back it up."

Faced with a similar situation last season Dearden was allowed to bring in Duncan Jupp from Wimbledon.

I assume Dearden will be looking for a striker although a centre midfielder also has to be high on the list of priorities.
