Garden tipped for "Player of the season" award

Garden has kept cleansheets in the last three matches, the first time County have done that since the opening three matches of the 1999-2000 season when Sam Allardyce's team stormed to the top of the Second Division.
And it's true to say that he has done it the hard way because in all three games against Tranmere, Peterborough and Bury, the Scottish goalkeeper made a series of top-notch saves.

It has been a highly eventful period for Garden, who took the decision during the summer to quit Forfar and try his luck in England, even though he was warned that he would not be the first-choice at Meadow Lane.
Steve Mildenhall was earmarked for that job when he arrived from Swindon at the same time and when the patient Garden finally did get the call, he was unluckily sent off in his fourth appearance at Chesterfield.

Under the circumstances, Garden has shown that he has the stomach for a fight by forcing his way back into the side and this time, he is determined to stay there.
