Further arrangements made for Richo testimonial

Since his release from the club, Richardson has joined the club’s much-acclaimed Football in the Community project after accepting the club’s proposal of a testimonial game.

Richardson salutes his public as Notts manager.
The match will honour the player’s nine-and-a-half years with the club, in which he made close to 250 league, twenty FA Cup and eighteen League Cup appearances. Besides this, Richardson, memorably, shouldered the role of Caretaker manager to help to steer the club away from relegation, thus securing their illustrious 143 years of history.

Further to the early arrangements made for a friendly game, the committee have this morning announced to NCM that a Testimonial Dinner will be held on Wednesday 22nd February, with an after dinner speaker, an auction and a comedian all having been laid-on.

Speaking of the arrangements, Richardson said: "I am delighted that Colin Slater has agreed to be Master of Ceremonies for the evening and host the auction."

"Colin will also be joined by the excellent After Dinner Speaker for the night, Barry Fry – who I am sure will keep us entertained with some of his amusing anecdotes."

The auction will see a number of items go under the hammer, including signed football shirts from both Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea, as well as the opportunity to actually play in the fixture, or even act as John Gaunt for the day, assisting Richardson’s managerial duties from the bench.

The night proves to be an eventful one, with events commencing at 7.00pm.

Tickets are available at just £40-a-piece by telephoning 07814 189 035 or 07905 161 030.

For any further word on arrangements, be sure to check back to NCM over the coming weeks.
