Frost made five first-team appearences at the end of last season, so it way always likely that the youngster would head the queue of youth-team players vying for a first-team place since the decision to scrap the Club's academy.

Frost: Professional
And today, on his seventeenth birthday, Frost has agreed a two-year contract with the club – just a year after he was offered an initial scholarship here, a move that would see Frost feature heavily in the club's youth and reserve outfits, which would eventually lead to first-team opportunities for the youngster.

The talented winger had previously been unable to sign pro terms due to his age, but the Magpies were able to nab him at the first possible opportunity today.

Frost joins fellow ex-youth teamers Tommy Hannigan and Bobby Wilson in joining Steve Thompson's squad for the coming season, with the trio all having agreed their first professional terms over the course of the summer.

The homegrown player has been handed the number 14 shirt for the upcoming season and looks to play a key role within the first-team squad.

Frost has already impressed Notts fans with his spirit. The teenager played-on in the 2-2 draw against Bury despite suffering a fractured skull in a sickening clash of heads.
