Friars off to Telford

Friars and Notts boss Gudjon Thordarson both agreed to the move earlier today to the non-league outfit - who sit three leagues below the Magpies in the footballing pyramid.

Friars
The Northern Ireland under-21 international has made a total of 10 first-team appearences, but has not featured yet this campaign.

And with Thordarson having an abundance of riches in defence, the August Manager of the Month was keen for Friars, 19, to gain some first-team experience.

The left-sided centre back was a graduate of the Notts County Youth system, but is now in the second season of a two-year professional contract. He has captained the Magpies' second-string on a number of occasions and led the Youth team to Midlands FA Cup success two seasons ago.

Bernard McNally's Telford side are hoping to climb the leagues since re-forming after going bust early last year. They had previously been in the Conference and earned themselves National acclaim for frequent FA Cup giant-killings.

We at NCM wish them all the luck in the world in their re-birth, whilst also wishing Friars well on his spell out on loan.
