Jamie Forrester made it third time lucky in competitive games for the Magpies, netting his first goal of the season away at Luton Town.

Time to shine?: Hopefully Forrester will continue to find the back of the net...
Ian McParland's summer recruit coolly converted a penalty yesterday to draw the game level, allowing Notts to come away from Kenilworth Road with a point.

Fans are expecting more from the former Lincoln City hot-shot, with 45.1 percent of the 102 people that voted in Notts County Mad's latest poll, expecting Forrester to be the club's top goal-scorer this season.

With his track record, there is no reason why he should not be crowned with the golden boot award in May.

At the Imps he managed 12 goals last season and an impressive 18 the year before, putting to shame any contributions from last season's strikers at Meadow Lane.

Hopefully with the boost of grabbing his first goal, the tiny poacher will be able to rekindle this goal-scoring threat.

Despite Notts displaying a drastic improvement in performances, there is still one thing missing - goals.

Last year, Notts only managed to score more than once in a league game on five occasions, and three games in this yet again appears to be a stumbling block.

Should Forrester manage to find his eye for goal and become a consistent contributor, it will go a long way to converting draws into wins.

The pressure is not just on Forrester to find the net, but his strike partners as

well, who will have to help fire Notts towards the better end of the League Two Table.

Sean Canham was tipped to finish the club's top goal-scorer by 22.5 percent of those that voted in the poll previously mentioned, continuing his tremendous strike rate gained at non-league outfit, Team Bath.

14.7 percent voted for Delroy Facey, whereas a further 12.7 percent opted for last season's 12-goal midfielder, Richard Butcher.

Just two percent expected the remaining two front-men, Spencer Weir-Daley and Ben Fairclough to finish with the most strikes, and a further one percent chose an unmentioned squad member.
