Neil Warnock - The Playoff Master
Division One:

Andy Hughes will be in action for Reading as they take on Wolves tomorrow evening at Molineux, the only former Magpie in this clash.

Hughes, 25, has been in fine form this season for The Royals and has scored 9 goals from midfield including the winner over Nottingham Forest last month.

He was linked with a £2 Million move to Southampton earlier in the season, with a sell on clause meaning Notts get 15% of any profit Reading make it will be interesting to see if his form attracts any Premiership clubs should Reading not gain promotion.

In the other First Division playoff, Nottingham Forest take on Sheffield United, with plenty of former Magpies in action.

Both managers are former Notts employees, with Neil Warnock having taken Notts from the old Division Three to the old Division One in sucessive seasons via the playoffs with wins over Tranmere and Brighton in the finals.

Hart joined Notts in a player-coach capacity not long before he was appointed manager of Chesterfield in 1988.

Our neighbours across the river have Darren Ward in goal, who joined Forest on a bosman free transfer two years ago after 6 seasons with The Magpies in which he made over 300 appearances.

For The Blades, they have two former Notts players in their squad by the names of Marcel Cas and Shaun Murphy.

Cas joined United in January of this year after just over a year with The Magpies, while Murphy spent just over four years at Meadow Lane before moving to West Bromwich Albion for £500,000 in 1996.

Blades assistant Kevin Blackwell was on Notts books but never played a first team game for the Magpies.

Andy Legg - Hoping Cardiff Can Finally Reach Division One
Division Two:

Former Magpies favourite Andy Legg will be hoping Cardiff can banish memories of the playoff semi final defeat to Stoke last season by overcoming bitter rivals Bristol City this time around.

The 35 year old Welshman has been a regular in The Bluebirds team this season, and his long throws are still causing problems in opposition's penalty areas.

In City's squad will be former Magpies striker Peter Beadle, who joined Notts from Port Vale in February 1999 before moving to City in November that year.

QPR take on Oldham in the playoffs this weekend with one former Magpie on their books in Brett Angell.

He scored 5 goals in 6 games while on loan during the 1999-2000 season before returning to Stockport.

The powerful frontman has however not featured for Ian Holloway's side since mid March when they crushed Cheltenham 4-1.

Division Three:

Steve Torpey - During His Bristol City Days - Will Be Hoping Scunthopre Can Overcome Lincoln
Scunthorpe and Lincoln meet in the Third Division playoff semi finals tomorrow, with both sides having a former Notts player in their ranks.

Lincoln have former Notts striker Niall McNamara in their squad, he arrived on a free transfer from Belper Town on transfer deadline day this season. He signed for Notts on a one year deal in July 2001 from Nottingham Forest and made four sub appearances before being released.

Scunthorpe also have another former Notts forward in their team, with ex loanee Steve Torpey leading the line for The Iron after making only his second appearance since January following injury in last weekends 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town which secured a playoff place.

Bury take on AFC Bournemouth with former Notts duo Chris Billy and Colin Cramb in thier squad with Andy Preece's side aiming to bounce back to Division Two at the first attempt.
