The fixtures were released mid-morning today, with Notts being handed an opening day trip to the south coast, with Torquay United being the Magpies’ first opponents of the 2005/06 campaign.
The fixture falls on the opening Saturday of the season, Saturday August 6th.
Meanwhile, Notts’ latest signing Kevin Pilkington will have not have to wait so long to meet his former employers in the form of local rivals Mansfield Town, as the Magpies make the short trip just weeks into the season, with that oh-so enjoyable trip to Field Mill falling on the 29th of the month, meaning it will be a mid-week fixture.
The Stags will then visit the ‘Lane for the return fixture come March 4th – another Saturday.
The final fixture of the season – another home match – will see Bury visit the ‘Lane.
Notts' first home match of the season will be the mid-week visit of Wrexham, whilst there first Saturday home game will be against neighbours Lincoln City.
Gudjon's men will also be away on Boxing Day for the first time in four seasons, making the trip to Oxford United.
