Friday 30th May 2003 will turn out to be one of the biggest day's in Notts County's history when the creditors meeting takes place, with the club's future to be decided one way or another.

Today Finnity admitted the Bhatia/Strang bid will be going to the creditors next week.

"I will be putting Bhatia and Strang forward as my preferred bid at the creditors' meeting," Finnity told the Evening Post.

"They do hold a significant advantage as they have largely gained approval from all the important parties.

"Neither Quintain or the new bid, which was only confirmed late yesterday, have been able to do that.

"The window is still open for them if they are able to come to me and show that they have that approval.

"If they do then they will be considered as well but as things stand, they are a long way behind in the race at the moment."

Meanwhile, Sam McEwan, who is the spokesman for Bhatia and Strang was confident their bid would be sucessful.

"We met with the Football League on May the 8th and they said that the May 27th deadline was a moveable feast," said McEwan.

"As long as progress was being made, they said that they would not stick rigidly to it.

"I think they can already see that progress is being made.

"And we are confident that the situation will be resolved in the near future.

"We certainly don't see there being any problems with the creditors meeting.

"As far as we are aware, ours is the only bid that will be put forward for approval.

"And we are confident that everything will go through smoothly.

"Hopefully that will prove the final hurdle."
