Fantastic Fenton Proving His Worth

The former Manchester City defender has been nothing short of excellent so far this campaign, and if there was a "Player of the Season So Far"award he would probably romp home the winner, although Paul Bolland would come close as well.

This season is Fenton's second full one as a regular first team player, and will be hoping for a better campaign than last season, and at the age of 22 his best years are way ahead of him, hopefully at Meadow Lane. Despite him saying on numerous occasions last season he was a centre half, both Jocky Scott and Gary Brazil played him at right back for 3/4 of the campaign and it was easy enough to see he was struggling.

He moved to centre half at the end of February last season, and the switch came up trumps for Billy Dearden. Fenton was outstanding and he formed a strong partnership with Craig Ireland, and at one stage not a single goal was conceeded in 4 games and was a stepping stone to "The Great Escape".

The £150,000 signing has carried on his form from last season, and has won praise from local media, Billy Dearden and the fans for his performances so far and long may it continue.
