Fans upbeat ahead of Quakers clash

There is a greater sense of optimism following the win over Doncaster Rovers, shown by the positive predictions ahead of today's clash with Darlington.

Here is what some NCM users think will happen…

Forrester will score in the second half to help us to our first league win of the season, but it'll be a bit of a battle between two teams with excellent defensive records. Darlington are a decent outfit, but I expect the Notts team's confidence is sky-high after midweek, and I think we'll get past them. I just hope extra-time didn't take it out of them too much. Prediction: Notts County 1-0 Darlington

I said last week Notts will have to wait until their opening home game of the season to register points in the league and I am sticking by my guns the Magpies will deliver at Meadow Lane. A lot of heart should have been taken from the performance at Bradford last week and it obviously was judging by patches of Tuesday night's Carling Cup win over Championship side Doncaster. We saw a County side we probably haven't seen for a while. A County team with that air of confidence in attack. Darlington are a good side and will be in the top half of the table come May but after two successive seasons of missing out on the play-offs despite the hype surrounding their team, I expect these near-misses to tell on the players at the start of this term. Nonetheless a win over Dave Penney's men will not be easy but I just think the confidence will reside in the Notts camp. This will by no means be an easy game but I think a renewed character in Ian McParland's side will see them to victory. Prediction: Notts County 1-0 Darlington

After the fantastic performance in mid-week, spirits are in the sky at Meadow Lane. The fact that we are - finally - trying to play football in the right way and reaping the rewards for doing so means it's easy to get carried away, but Darlington had their own surprise win in mid-week, beating League One Walsall. It's good to see McParland with a few selection headaches, but I think an entertaining score draw against one of League Two's strongest teams is on the cards here. Forrester to get off the mark for us. Prediction: Notts County 1-1 Darlington

After facing Bradford and Championship opposition in Doncaster in the opening few games, the visit of a strong Darlington side to Meadow Lane won't do us any favours in terms of getting points on the board. With the standard of player they'll bring to Meadow Lane, I'm sure the our lads will be looking to test their mettle against another of the League's better sides, particularly the defenders, who'll have their hands full with the likes of Pawell Abbott and Jason Kennedy. Our season won't be made or broken on days on days like these though, although seeing how we come through our three-game baptism of fire should give us some idea of how we'll end the season come May time. Prediction: Notts County 1-2 Darlington

For the first time in a long time, I actually expect Notts to get a result. You just can't help but feel a tad of optimism after an encouraging display away at Bradford, followed by a great result and performance against Doncaster. I feel that Notts will actually go into the game brimming with confidence and will dominate the for the majority. I still think that it will be difficult, but Notts will grab a solitary goal to win the game. Mike Edwards to score a header. Prediction: Notts County 1-0 Darlington
