Fans: Give Canham a chance

The vast majority of fans who took part in Notts County Mad's latest survey have said that they want Sean Canham to be given the chance to prove himself as a starter.

Battle: Who will start today alongside Jamie Forrester?
124 people voted over the past few days, and an incredible 98 (79 percent) of them believed that the ex-Team Bath top-scorer should partner Jamie Forrester up-front.

Delroy Facey picked up just 21 percent of the votes, despite starting all of County's league games this term.

Canham's goal last week after coming off the bench against Accrington Stanley appears to have swayed the voters, who will want to see him replicate his non-league record, in which he netted an incredible 41 times last year.

Facey on the other hand has yet to hit the target, but has caused problems for the opposition with his presence, as well as linking up play effectively.

Ian McParland has recognised this. Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post, he explained: "Sometimes all people look at is goals.

"They don't look at the other parts of the striker's game.

"I have played in games where I think I have done really well, where I have got hold of the ball, held the centre-half off and made goals - but they don't bother a monkeys about that.

"Then I have played in games when I couldn't trap it, a centre-half has taken it off me, but I have scored two goals and everybody thinks you are fantastic."

To see whether Canham's goal last week was enough to see him start this afternoon's game away at Exeter City, keep checking back for the starting line-ups, which will be announced shortly before kick-off.
