Ex-Loanee taken ill

Jephcott, ironically the first of many signings of Mills tenure – which came to an end late yesterday night – was rushed to hospital in the small hours of Tuesday morning, after complaining of feeling in poor health. Sadly, this was later identified as meningitis

Ex-Notts man, Jephcott
As precautionary measures, the club advised that all members of the Nuneaton squad were to see their local doctor’s for testing – thus far, not a one has shown signs of the disease.

The family of Avun, 21, have advised the club that he is recovering well in hospital.

A statement on the club’s web-site read: "Avun is currently in hospital suffering from viral meningitis, his condition is stable."

"We all wish Avun a speedy recovery and our thoughts are with his family at this time."

Jephcott arrived at the ‘Lane on an initial one-month just days after Mills was appointed Notts manager, but left almost as quickly as he arrived after commanding first team football. He thus returned to Highfield Road, only to be released to Nuneaton in the summer.

NCM would like to extend our sympathies and well wishes to Avun and his family.
