Exclusive Trembling Interview

Last updated : 15 December 2009 By Tom Pritchard

Tom from NCM got the chance to speak to Peter Trembling on the phone whilst he is on holiday in New York with family.

NCM: First of all, is it true that Hans Backe has resigned?

Peter: Yes Hans Backe resigned on Saturday evening and it was announced today.

NCM: What reasons did he give?

Peter: He said that "promises had been broken". He wanted to sign players for big fees in the emergency transfer window and this was not possible. We do not know if he had another job lined up.

NCM: When will you be looking into appointing a new manager?

Peter: I arrive home on Friday and I will be speaking to Sven on Saturday morning in training.

NCM: Will it be someone as high profile as Hans Backe or will it be a more low key appointment and do you have anyone in mind?

Peter: In my opinion Hans Backe was the right man; it just didn't work out. We have a number of people in mind.

NCM: Will Sven be staying?

Peter: Yes, this has not changed regardless of Hans Backe's resignation.

NCM: Are the rumours true that Notts cannot afford to pay their players past January?

Peter: No, absolutely not. I'd like to know where these rumours come from. If they forward us their details we will be happy to sue them.

NCM: Will Notts be forced to sell in January?

Peter: This will not be the case at all. Things will continue as they have been doing.

NCM: Anything else you wish to add?

Peter: Keep the faith. We will be continuing to carry on improving things. Me and Sven will continue to seek investment and improve things off and on the pitch. We are near the top of the division and people need to think back to how things were last season and the season before. The infrastructure is improving and Notts County will keep aiming upwards and towards getting into the Championship.

At this point due to Peter being in New York and me being located in a cubicle in the depths of Victoria Centre I lost signal and we were cut off. NCM thank Peter Trembling for being so honest and for inviting NCM to interview him.
