Elliot's loan spell extended

The young Charlton stopper has seen his original one-month deal extended by a further month today, as revealed earlier by the Notts official site.

The 19-year-old (pictured left) has acted as cover for first choice keeper Saul Deeney, after previously on-loan keeper Wayne Henderson returned to parent club Aston Villa.

And, despite not yet making his first-team bow, the London-born player has impressed with a number of assured displays in the reserves.

"Rob has done well in training and reserve matches since joining us since joining us, and I have been impressed with him," boss Ian Richardson told the official site today.

"He looks like he is going to be a very good goalkeeper in the future. He's a big lad at 6ft 3ins, and also very agile. He was brought in to push Saul, and if he keeps doing what he is doing he will get a chance at some stage in the future."

Elliot is likely to at least see one first team oppurtunity this month, with Deeney facing a Republic of Ireland under-21 call-up that clashes with a Magpies league match.
