Whitley played his final game of a 3 month loan from Manchester City on Saturday, and with Notts' financial situation as it is they are unable to offer him a permanent deal at the presant time.

During his time with Notts this season he made 14 appearances and picking up 3 yellows cards, with no goals in the process.

Meanwhile Jupp will return to Wimbledon after the game with Stockport County at Meadow Lane tomorrow evening.

Jupp has been on loan to Notts since the start of November, and he has made a handful of appearances since signing.

"It is not the ideal situation for us to be in," Billy Dearden told the Evening Post.

"You never want to lose the likes of Whitley, who showed again what he is capable of on Saturday.

"And given the club's financial situation, the chances of us bringing anyone else in are not great. We will just have to cope with what we have."
