Doyle extends loan spell

19-year old Doyle signed an initial one-month deal with the club last month, impressing in his four consecutive starts for the Magpies to earn an extension to his original deal, a move that'll see him remain with the club for the rest of the current campaign.

Doyle: Impressive so far
The midfielder – who can also operate at right-back – picked up an injury shortly before half-time in last weekend's 0-0 bore draw against Oxford, with the injury looking to have jeopardised a possible move to extend the player's initial spell here.

After much assessment on the situation, Gudjon Thordarson has decided to retain the player for the final eight games of the season, with the player looking to return to action for Saturday's trip to high-flying Northampton Town.

Another player who could feature at the Sixfields is Malian-import Noé Sissoko.

Sissoko, 22, had been in France for the past week visiting a specialist for an injury picked up in his first full game for the club.

Saturday's game, however, looks to have come too early for Noé, with the player looking more likely to return to action in a friendly next week to bring him back up to full fitness.
