Did Notts reject £30 million investment?

Slater, a Notts correspondent for the Nottingham Evening Post and then Radio Nottingham for 48 seasons was quoted on the latter's topical radio phone-in on Monday night that capital investment had been rejected by the club.

While NCM have no actual quotes from any kind of source the debate has sprung up somewhat on the Messageboard, with one amount projected as £30 million.

Naturally this is idle rumour that is obviously untrue, but has Slater got it right?

As an experienced journalist he may have been simply sparking debate, but the truths are unlikely to be known until an official spokesman comments.

Could Notts afford to turn down money into the club? Surely not considering the not to distant past's financial errors, but had they there must have been ample reason to do so.

NCM will not speculate, however, and hope that there will be more to report from Meadow Lane shortly.
