Derry the Red

The Nottingham-born 27-year old, who featured in eight of Palace’s big Premiership adventure this season, agreed to join Forest in a move that will benefit both parties greatly. The midfield man, who has started but once in the league this season, has found first team opportunities somewhat hard to come by as of late and, what with Forests shortage of midfielders, has thus agreed a one-month loan across the river.

Shaun Derry
The former Notts trainee, who made, in all, 89 appearances for the club between August ’95 and January 1998, left the Magpies in our infamous championship winning season to join Sheffield United for a fee of £400,000.

Since then, Derry’s transfer fees have – including the Blades’ spendings – have reached a staggering £1.4m with moves to Portsmouth (£300,000) and ‘Palace (£400,000).

NCM can only wish Derry well with his new ‘team’.
