Mike Edwards v Micky Boulding

If Notts can avoid defeat in this local derby game, it will take something special from the sides below to avoid the drop out of the Football League.

Based on County's recent good showings at the back, another clean sheet will surely be top of Ian McParland's agenda.

Mike Edwards has slowly been getting back to his best since returning from his pre-season in jury and he will need to be at the very op of his game in this derby to keep goal machine Micky Boulding quiet at Meadow Lane.

The former Aston Villa man has fiound the net an impressive 21 times in all competitions this season for the Stags despite his side suffering most of the season in the lower reaches of the division.

His goal return is quite astonishing for a side battling against the drop. And if the Stags can avoid relegation, surely Boulding must put himsel;f fprward as a candidate for the divisions player of the season award.

The 32-year-old has bagged 45 per cent of the Stags's legaue goals this term which may otherwise have seen Town relegated already.

His 18 strikes is followed by next top Stags goal getter, Simon Brown, who has just four.

Boulding, who has scored 71 career gaols depsite playing the most part of the left side of midfield, will take some stopping on Saturday.

Mike Edwards may be the man asked to mark Boulding and he looks up to the job having helped the Magpies to five clean sheets in his 12 appearances thsi campaign.

The 27-year-old has often been touted as one of the finest defencers in League Two and he should be more than up for the challenge.

If he steps up to the mark, it will strengthen claims of his quality for this level.
