Defensive Injury Crisis Worsens

Ireland picked up a thigh injury in the reserves 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe on Wednesday, and Ramsden has a similar injury which he picked up against Swindon on Tuesday night.

Michael Brough is battling to be fit after picking up an ankle injury, leaving the Notts boss with plenty of tough decisions to make ahead of Saturday's game.

Notts Boss Bill Dearden Has Called Off Practise Games
Practice matches have now been banned at training sessions to stop anyone else being injured, with Notts having such a small squad boss Bill Dearden cannot afford to lose any more players.

Dearden told the Nottingham Evening Post:
"It's hard to know what to do in this situation but, with only 14 outfield players reporting for training, you can't take risks." Said Dearden

"So we decided that we would not push them too hard.

"We have not had any kind of practice match or anything that would involve the risk of picking up more injuries."
He added.
