Deeney to Premiership outfit?
The Irishman had a recent trial at Ewood Park, and Rovers boss Graeme Souness is considering making a move for the Irishman. Souness was told about Deeney by Rovers goalkeeping coach Roy Tunks, and Souness got the Irishman on trial soon afterwards.

Deeney has been highly regarded by Notts for some time now, and was first involved with the first team back in 1999, when he was on the bench in the Worthington Cup clash with Bury. However, the youngster is yet to make an appearance for The Magpies, 2 years after signing on as a pro. One of the main reasons behind this has been the form of Stuart Garden, and previously Darren Ward that has kept him out of 1st team action. Deeney also enjoyed loan spells at Ilkeston Town & Gresley Rovers last season.

Souness said:
"We are talking to Notts County but at the moment we are a wee apart on what they want and what we want to pay"

No deal has been reached, but the money would surely come in handy for Notts. With Notts' financial position at the moment, Notts may well be forced to sell one of their most promising youngsters.
