Deeney, the highly rated Irish Under-19 and Under-20, has signed the short-term contract with the club until it's financial difficulties are resolved and the transfer embargo is lifted.

Deeney has been touted as a young keeper with great potential for many seasons at Notts.

However, he was only recently handed his debut in March 2003 at home against Huddersfield Town because of an injury to first choice stopper, Steve Mildenhall.

Deeney then played the remaining 7 games where he showcased his ability as a promising young shot stopper.

Deeney joins fellow team-mates Ian Richardson and Michael Brough on short term deals, as well as new-boys Simon Baldry, Steve Jenkins, Tony Barras and Clive Platt who are also employed by the club in the short-term with the prospect of long term contracts at the club.
