Hull took on Sunderland to celebrate the opening of their new stadium "The Circle Stadium", a very impressive looking stadium as well.

The Tigers were 1-0 winners over a much changed Sunderland side from the one that had beaten Liverpool just days earlier, with Steve Melton getting the winner.

Deeney was introduced to the action at half time infront of 22,000+ fans and by all accounts the loanee did well although he had little to do, but what he did do he did well.

He is yet to make an appearance in the league for Hull, he has been on the bench for every game since he joined on loan in October, playing understudy to Paul Mussellwhite.

NCM cauaght up with a Hull fan who gave a quick remark about Deeney;

"He played for 45 minutes on Wednesday yes. Can't really give any opinions on him from that, but he certainly didn't do anything wrong"
