Deeney, capped at under-21 level with his native Republic of Ireland, has signed an 18-month contract set to keep the promising talent with the club until the end of the 2004/05 season. Whilst Tony Barras (pictured left), brought in by former boss, Bill Dearden, over the summer, has signed with the club for the remainder of the current season.

The signings of this pairing follows the departure of Clive Platt and Steve Jenkins who both left for Peterborough United after their short-term contracts expired.

NCM also understand that Simon Baldry, Ian Richardson and Michael Brough are all due to commit their future to County within the next 48 hours.
