DeBolla to sign?

With everyone from Lee Peacock to Leon Knight being linked with the club of-late, the potential signing of former Aston Villa and Charlton man DeBolla has flown very much under the radar until now, with his name perhaps the only one omitted from the endless speculation over the week gone by.

He's got a Pineapple...
The 22-year old striker saw his contract terminated with Chesterfield earlier today by mutual consent and now looks likely to be foremost in Gudjon Thordarson’s plans, as his hunt for a new striker rolls on.

DeBolla joined the club initially on loan in late November to make an instant impact with a debut goal for his new club. Seven appearances later, and it now seems likely that this arrangement could become a permanent one, with the player now a free agent following his release.

"DeBolla did well for us, and now he has been released we will look at things again. I will talk to his agent and assess the situation. By no means does it mean he is certainly coming here, but we will sit down and see what the future holds for Mark and us," said Thordarson, speaking to the Official site earlier today.

"Regardless, I would like to thank him for his efforts during the loan spell. He came in and scored a good goal against Torquay, and put in some good performances for us and gave us something a bit different in attack."

Another of Gudjon’s potential targets, Jason Lee – like Andri Steinn Birgisson, Lee Peacock and Lee Crooks before him – has been struck off the Notts manager’s shopping list after the Icelandic boss revealed Lee’s contract demands were beyond what he could offer at present.

The former Nottingham Forest striker, now 34, was said to have demanded an eighteen-month contract that would see him to the end of next season, rather than the end of this, as Thordarson was hoping.
