Dearden: We need players!

Last updated : 25 November 2003 By Rob Davies
Notts will be without their usual first choice midfield pairing of Caskey & Baraclough, who are both suspended, for Saturday's trip to Oldham Athletic.

Notts also are without Michael Brough, who is a long term injury victim.

And Dearden insists the Magpies just won't have enough players, and need to bring someone in.

"We will basically be missing our entire midfield next weekend," Dearden told the Nottingham Evening Post. "We have Darren Caskey and Ian Baraclough suspended, after picking up five bookings each this season.

"And Michael Brough has also undergone an operation on his knee, which means he will be out for around a month.

"When you add Tony Barras to that, it is a lot of players to be without, that is a lot to have to cope with.

"And we are going to have to ask the question again.

Caskey- Will be missing on Saturday
"Given the circumstances I do want to bring another player in on loan."

Dearden has already had one possible loan move vitoed earlier in the month , but hopes the answer will be different on this occasion.

"We were not allowed to do that before, but you can only ask the question again," he said. "And I will be doing that again this week.

"What the answer will be remains to be seen, but it is something I think needs to be done."

If Dearden fails in his attempt to bring in anyone on loan, it may be a chance for the youngsters to impress, but I wouldn't bet on that too much.

Still....this time next week, we should be out of administration!
