Even if Brough and Deeney do turn down new deals and move on to another club, The Magpies will be due compensation as both players are under 24 years of age with Notts able to receive a fee via a tribunal.
Brough had his best season in the black and white stripes, adding consistency to his game and earning two caps for the Wales U21 side during the season.
Promising young Irish keeper Deeney started the final seven games of the season following regular keeper Steve Mildenhall's injury and gave a number of impressive performances, especially on his debut against Huddersfield Town.
"I have not heard from either of them at the moment, but I do expect to hear from them within the next week". Notts boss Billy Dearden told Radio Nottingham.
Ian Richardson is also out of contract, but has not been offered a new deal at the moment but Dearden is keen to keep the long serving defender.
