Dearden: That's more like it

With Notts securing their first League win at home since May, Billy Dearden could not hide his relief at the 3-0 scoreline. Which had come off the back of two away defeats at the hands of Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday.

He had this to say to the Nottingham Evening Post "We've not had the best of weeks, we've had two results where I thought we should have got something out of them and we have come back and I thought the lads were magnificent today."

"We've had to change three or four players today but we took our chances and kept a clean sheet again. I don't think Colchester are a bad side, they had a few chances and if they had finished them a bit better it could have been a different game."

"We've had to shuffle the pack and we've not been able to do anything constructive in training and not been able to name a team in the last four or five matches until an hour before kick off."

A delighted Dearden also had this to say about the hugely impressive youngster, Paul Riley, who possibly played his greatest ever game in a Notts shirt. "Riley did very well, won the ball, ran on 10 yards and released a terrific shot, amazing wasn't it?"

Let's hope that Paul and the rest of the lads can continue that kind of form going into next Saturday's home game against newly promoted Bournemouth.
