Dearden Talks About Dimech

The Maltese International has arrived on trial from Sliema Wanderers in Malta where he has performed consistantly and has guided Sliema to runners up 3 seasons in a row.
He has 17 international caps to his name, and has been a regular in their squad for the past year, and featured in their World Cup Qualifiers.
Dearden told the Nottingham Evening Post a little more about Dimech, and how he had showed up in the 1st few days of training;

"We have taken him on trial to have a good look at him and, up to now, he has looked okay," he said. "In training he has really got stuck in and seems to have the right attitude.
"But we haven't seen a lot of him with the ball yet and, obviously, you can't really make a judgement about anyone until they have played in a match.
"He will certainly play in one, if not both, of the friendly matches we have lined up for next week (
Vs Hucknall on 17th, and Ilkeston on the 20th), then we will be able to see what he is capable of."
"On the videos I have seen of him playing, he has always performed as a central defender, but I am told he can play in midfield too," said Dearden.
"Central defence is obviously one area we are looking to strengthen, simply because we are short of numbers."
"His versatility could come in useful as well. But, these are very early days and we are still to see what he is capable of."

So those who are going to the pre-season games will be able to, along with Billy Dearden, get their 1st chance to see Dimech in competitive action.
